      I wonder if there is a Manas@ss dog whisperer…might be expensive…but puppy!

      Rob:

The first amendment reads; “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” It does not advocate the separation of church and state. It states that congress cannot create a national religion thereby allowing everyone to worshi as they wish. The misinterpretation of this amendments is one of my pet peeves..

      • Your ol' buddy Robb says:

        Two Bs in Robb.

      • Teddy says:

Thomas Jefferson would disagree with you.

The current leadership in Iran is a great example of what happens when the Government and the Church intermingle.

Conservative Protestant Christians in the US don’t like the Separation of Church and State but they’d be the first to squawk if Islam or Catholicism or Buddhism or any other faith won out over their own mythology.

        • Dimitrios says:

No Teddy, Iran is NOT a great example of church and state. Why? Because there are many countries that have official, national churches that do not impose their beliefs as Iran does.

The countries that have a state religion, include the following:
England, Greece, Denmark, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Malta.

Then, there’s some cantons of Switzerland: Appenzell Innerrhoden, Nidwalden, Schwyz, Uri.

There are many more but there’s no need to post them. As a Christian, I believe 100% in the separation of church and state but to use Iran as an exemplar of the consequences of church and state is a flawed, prejudiced example. Actually, it’s nothing more than “mythology.”

          • Larry Fine says:

So you want Christian myths to be recognized officially by the US Government?

            Really?

            Which ones?

            I’m dying to hear this.

            • Dimitrios says:

What I’m dying to hear, sir, is which public high school you attended because they did you a tremendous disservice. I demand you go back to it and force them to give you a proper education, especially in reading comprehension.

Never mind, they screwed you over once so they’ll do it again.

Read the last paragraph–umm, I’ll type slowly so you can understand–this is called the summation.

          • Teddy says:

You don’t like what’s happened in Iran but many American fundamentalist Christians do… if only they could substitute Christianity for Islam.

And you don’t seem to understand what the word “mythology” means. Please look it up.

            • Dimitrios says:

Hmm, Interesting. Now you’re a Greek pseudo scholar who’s also some kind of atheist/agnostic who’s also trying to educate a Greek in his own language. Brilliant.

Your reply, sir, does not address my remark but instead reveals your prejudice, bias, and hatred toward American fundamentalist Christians. Please read my remark and then reply to it instead of some disjointed, random comment.

If you insist on avoiding the issue at hand, I will not waste my time and effort in replying.
              Thank you

freedom of religion also means freedom from religion. you can’t have one without the other.

      • Larry Fine says:

Dimitrios, I think you’re ashamed of your own religion. Instead of telling me how wonderful it is you lash out against a harmless stranger. How un-christian of you.

      • Teddy says:

Hey Dimitrios! Who do you think would win if Jesus and Hercules had a fist fight?

    3. rod says:

Mike – just take a poop in the dog’s bed but make him watch, its all about the eye contact.

    4. Andy says:

Please don’t use Oscar as the “sports go-to-guy” anymore. BYU-Iona is a different campus?!?!?! Yikes!

      • Bear Accountant says:

Please don’t read a bracket anymore. Talk about ponderous. That would be bad radio even if you DID have an idea who the teams were.

I don’t want to get political here, but the only thing more boring than hearing about someone else’s dreams or porn on radio is hearing about someone else’s acid trips.
